Food & Beverage Host

Job Summary: 

As the first point of contact for our guests, the Food & Beverage Host sets the tone for a welcoming and elevated dining experience. You'll manage reservations, greet and seat guests, and assist both front- and back-of-house teams to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. 

Job Duties & Functions: 

• Warmly greet all guests, answer inquiries about the restaurant and local area. 

• Manage reservations and assist in coordinating special events or private dining. 

• Handle incoming calls and book reservations accurately using the reservation system. 

• Respond to guest e-mails and queries. 

• Print food and beverage menus. 

• Assist servers by taking food and beverage orders when needed. 

• Check the floor and tables for cleanliness and readiness; assist with bussing and resetting tables. 

• Support service by refilling beverages and assisting guests with requests. 

• Maintain an organized host stand and uphold cleanliness standards throughout the shift. 

• Step in to support other F&B roles as needed, in line with our team-oriented culture. 

• Performs other duties and attends meetings, as assigned by hotel/department leadership. 

Education & Experience: 

• 1+ years of experience in a similar role in a luxury, full-service or upscale dining environment. 

• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment. 

• Strong understanding of Forbes Travel Guide, AAA Five Diamond, LQA or equivalent service standards. 

• Knowledge of (or ability to quickly learn) POS and reservation systems. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. 

• Familiarity with menu items and the ability to communicate food and allergy information. 

• Ability to read, write and converse in English. Additional languages are a plus. 

• Food Handler Certification (where applicable). 

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
