Job Duties & FunctionsMaintain the highest standards of guest service, hospitality, massage therapy, and professionalism at all times.
Timely respond to guests’ needs and promote available services and products.
Ensure all services and interactions reflect brand standards, confidentiality, and five-star excellence.
Perform therapeutic spa services with the utmost care and within your scope of practice.
Excel in and participate in a team-working environment.
Follow all procedures and guidelines in performing massage and body treatments (i.e. proper sanitation of equipment, adherence to draping policy, time length, and treatment protocols, etc.).
Restore and restock treatment rooms to a neat and professional manner after each service.
Utilize, conduct, and maintain inventory of supplies and products.
Provide the highest-quality therapeutic massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols.
Confidently explain the precautions and health benefits of each treatment.
Conduct thoughtful consultations to determine guest needs and customize services accordingly.
Demonstrate advanced proficiency in a variety of techniques including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Sports, and specialty body rituals including scrubs, wraps, and hydrotherapy treatments.
Maintain accurate knowledge of spa offerings and wellness benefits to educate and guide guests.
Ensure high standards of sanitation and cleanliness pertaining to personal care, treatment rooms, and guest safety.
Maintain complete confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of integrity, guest privacy, and safety.
Address guest concerns and preferences professionally and with compassion.
Communicate and collaborate with spa team members and management to ensure smooth daily operations.
Perform opening and closing procedures and assist with laundry, inventory, and overall spa cleanliness as needed.
Provide recommendations for treatment based on expertise.
Promote spa retail, after-care products, and wellness enhancements to every guest based on their individual needs.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or GED is required.
A massage therapy license from an accredited institution with a minimum of 500 educational hours and successful passing and certification from the NCBTMB or passing the MBLEx is required.
Must graduate from a school of massage therapy that is recognized by the Council for Professions Allied with Medicine (CPAM) with educational hours consisting of anatomy and physiology, massage theory and technique, pathology, kinesiology, ethics, professionalism, and business practices.
Must have a massage therapy license in good standing and registered or eligible for full registration in Australia, Canada, Jamaica, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom, or the United States of America.
Minimum of 4 years’ active experience as a massage therapist in a luxury spa, hotel, resort, or equivalent is preferred.
Must possess strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Must have flexible schedule availability to include weekends, holidays, and events when needed.
Must have good physical stamina with the ability to perform multiple services in a row.
Professional demeanor and passion for spa, wellness, and luxury service preferred.
First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
Ability to remain calm under pressure, adapt to guest needs, and maintain a high standard of service excellence.
Strong understanding of Forbes/AAA brand standards is preferred.
You must participate in continuing education and a quality assurance program to maintain your registration with CPAM and high professional standards.
Therapists must abide by the Code of Ethics set forth by the Council for Professions Allied with Medicine (CPAM).
Maintain licensure and required CEUs – 60% of continuing education hours must be specific to your discipline and provided by an accredited institution and the remaining 40% can be in general medicine-related topics.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and/or country laws.
