Job Summary:

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the Food & Beverage Manager and Director of Food & Beverage in overseeing the daily operations of restaurants and bars, ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience. This role plays a critical part in maintaining service standards, supporting team development, and achieving financial and operational goals.

Job Duties & Functions:

  • Support the day-to-day operations of assigned F&B outlets, ensuring alignment with service standards, guest satisfaction, and team efficiency.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality, consistency, and presentation, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Assist in managing outlet labor, food, and beverage costs to ensure profitability.
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager in reviewing financial performance and implementing strategies to improve results.
  • Help coordinate staff scheduling, training, and performance management to promote employee engagement and growth.
  • Lead by example in delivering personalized, anticipatory, and genuine guest service in line with luxury hospitality standards.
  • Assist in developing and executing marketing promotions, including social media, on-property activations, and community outreach.
  • Enforce responsible alcohol service policies and report any concerns or violations to senior leadership.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and equipment functionality in all F&B areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Foster strong relationships across departments to support seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to departmental and hotel-wide initiatives as assigned.
  • Performs other duties and attends meetings, as assigned by hotel/department leadership.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of leadership experience in an upscale or luxury Food & Beverage setting, ideally within a hotel, resort, or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding and ability to train the team on Forbes/ AAA luxury standards.
  • Working knowledge of restaurant operations, cost controls, POS systems, and service standards.
  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, or related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, leadership, and a passion for guest service.
  • Must be highly organized with excellent multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Ability to read, write and converse in English. Additional languages are a plus.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
