About the Role:
As a Host, Guest Services, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, delivering a warm welcome and ensuring a seamless arrival and departure experience. You will manage guest check-in and check-out, process payments, and provide information on hotel services and local attractions. As part of the Hyatt Place Toronto Airport pre-opening team, you will also play a vital role in setting up front office operations and creating a welcoming guest experience from day one.
Job Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Check guests in and out efficiently while adhering to Hyatt service standards.
- Accurately process cash and credit card transactions, balance cash floats, and prepare daily cashier reports.
- Provide hotel and local information, including attractions, transportation, and dining recommendations.
- Promote and up-sell hotel services and room upgrade to maximize guest satisfaction and revenue.
- Handle guest concerns and service recovery with empathy and professionalism, escalating when necessary.
- Assist with group check-ins, VIP arrivals, and special guest requests.
- Book reservations, process cancellations, and update guest profiles accurately in the PMS.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure smooth communication and efficient service delivery.
- Support pre-opening activities, including training, system setup, and preparation of front office materials.
- Conduct property walks and assist with maintaining lobby and public areas in a clean, welcoming condition.
- Support housekeeping by delivering guest requests (linens, amenities, supplies) when needed.
- Monitor safety and security procedures, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Deliver service in line with Hyatt Place brand values: warmth, consistency, and attentiveness.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in Hospitality or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of front desk, guest services, or customer service experience in a hotel or related industry.
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in hotel PMS systems is an asset.
- Attributes: Friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility: Availability to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Health & Safety:
- Follow Hyatt’s Health & Safety Program and comply with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and promote safe work practices at all times.
- Report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions promptly to a supervisor or manager.
- Support the Joint Health & Safety Committee by raising any concerns related to workplace safety.
- Promote and follow the 'Clean as You Go' policy to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
