Job Summary
The Property Care Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, safety, and general condition of the resort’s grounds, pools, water features, outdoor furniture, and common areas. The role performs routine exterior care, pool and water-feature upkeep, and minor property repairs while supporting a welcoming and well-maintained resort environment for guests and colleagues.
Job Duties & Functions
Education & Experience
Pathway 1: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of relevant experience in property care, landscaping, pool operations, facilities maintenance, or a similar environment.
Pathway 2: Relevant vocational or technical certificate and 6 months to 1 year of relevant practical experience.
Pathway 3: At least 2 years of directly relevant practical experience may be considered in lieu of the formal education requirement.
Regardless of qualification pathway, candidates must demonstrate the ability to safely operate relevant property-care equipment, follow safe chemical-handling practices, maintain accurate records, and recognize maintenance issues that require escalation.
Luxury hotel or resort experience is preferred.
CPO or equivalent pool certification is preferred and is required where the colleague is independently responsible for pool chemistry or pool operations. OSHA 10 or similar safety training is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required where driving is an essential function of the position.
Working Conditions & Environment
Work is performed primarily throughout exterior and common areas of the resort and may involve exposure to Cayman heat and weather, wet or slippery surfaces, pool chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, landscaping and cleaning equipment, and public areas. Appropriate PPE and established safety procedures must be followed at all times.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; climb stairs and ladders; balance; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach; push and pull equipment; operate property-care tools and equipment; and lift and move objects weighing 50 lbs. or more, with or without reasonable accommodation.
