Compensation: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour

Position Overview:


At The Wildbirch Hotel, our Maintenance Technician supports the entire engineering, housekeeping and operation team and is responsible for the upkeep and repair of our guest rooms, public areas, back-ofhouse areas, facilities and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Job Summary:

  • The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the functionality and safety of a facility, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary repairs.
  • This position requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing Routine Maintenance:
    • Conducting regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify potential problems.
    • Performing preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
    • Maintaining and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
    • Replacing light bulbs, repairing fixtures, and addressing basic building system breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairing:
    • Responding promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
    • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
    • Repairing or replacing defective components.
    • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.
  • General Maintenance and Upkeep:
    • Assisting with the general upkeep of facilities, including cleaning, landscaping, and other tasks as needed.
    • Maintaining inventory of supplies and tools.
    • Collaborating with other maintenance personnel and contractors.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
    • Reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Safety:
    • Following all safety procedures and regulations.
    • Ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
    • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems.
    • Familiarity with safety procedures and building codes.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Ability to communicate effectively with tenants, clients, and other staff.
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Physical Skills:
    • Ability to lift, carry, and climb.
    • Manual dexterity and ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Relevant experience in maintenance or repair work.
    • Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., HVAC, electrical) are a plus.
