Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our pre-opening team.

The role will report to the Accounting Manager.

Conveniently located adjacent to Rome Termini Station and a short distance from the Colosseum, the 238-room Hyatt Regency Rome Central is a contemporary 5-star hotel offering premium business services and one of Italy’s most dazzling leisure rooftop experiences.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the accounts receivable process, including daily monitoring of revenues, discounts, complimentary items, and cancellations.
• Perform daily cash and credit card reconciliation, ensuring proper recording in the general ledger.
• Monitor and reconcile guest paid out transactions.
• Perform daily review and reconciliation of income and transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Manage reconciliations of deposit accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring accurate allocation of payments.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of the city tax.
• Support the accounts payable process, including invoice verification, coding, and posting.
• Collaborate with operational departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and compliance with internal controls.
• Support analytical accounting and cost center reporting, providing insights and analysis to management.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation for internal and external audits.

Skills and requirements:

• Good knowledge of general accounting principles and Italian fiscal law.
• Strong understanding of both accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Familiarity with analytical accounting and cost center management.
• Knowledge of Business Central and Opera Cloud is highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Good knowledge of English.
