A NIGHT AUDITOR at Hyatt Place Mohegan Sun is responsible for providing and promoting a high level of guest service from reception at the Front Desk to guest check-out as well as auditing/balancing the guest ledger. In addition to receiving and registering guests, the Night Auditor posts the day's room rate and room tax to each guest folio at the close of business ensuring the accuracy of charges and sum of charges (from all departments) is properly noted on each guest folio. He/She prepares PMS management reports that include occupancy, average daily rate and revenue per available room calculations.
The Night Auditor must have a working knowledge of all hospitality services including Front Desk, Night Audit and Reservations Management. He/She will work to ensure 100% level of guest satisfaction by acting as the main point of contact for all guest requirements and requests throughout the period of the stay. The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma (advanced education/coursework desired), previous hotel/hospitality or customer service experience, one year experience with front desk or customer facing role (i.e. Cashier, Sales), one year of Bookkeeping and/or General Accounting experience, strong computer skills, upbeat and friendly interpersonal skills and a sincere helpful demeanor. The Night Auditor audits the daily guest ledger, collects, verifies and balances entries from all departments, rectifies discrepancies, ensures accurate folio charges and prepares management reports all the while ensuring our guests feel "at home." He/She will stay current on all emergency policies and procedures and act accordingly ensuring the safety of hotel guest and fellow team members. The Night Auditor will greet and register guests and provide room assignments and accommodate special requests whenever possible and will also assist in the pre-registration and blocking of reservations. He/She will ensure all cash, checks and miscellaneous departments are in balance at the end of each shift and will complete the appropriate shift checklist daily. He/She will answer inquiries relating to hotel services, shopping, dining, entertainment and provide travel directions. Other job functions the Night Auditor will be responsible for but not limited to also includes providing food and beverage service including making Starbucks coffees, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and preparing food off of our Gallery Menu for our guests, adhere to all work rules, policies and procedures established by the company, including but not limited to those contained in the WHG Employee Handbook and all other duties as assigned by Management.
